Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) Circuit Board 5V

The 5V USB Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) Circuit Board provides a simple and engaging introduction to electronics. Using a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR), the circuit automatically detects changes in light levels and switches on the built-in colour changing LED when it becomes dark.

Once activated, the LED slowly cycles through several vibrant colours, creating an attractive mood lighting effect. As daylight returns or the surrounding area becomes brighter, the LDR automatically switches the LED off, demonstrating how sensors are used in real-world electronic products.

Powered by a supplied open-ended USB cable, the circuit can be connected to any standard 5V USB power source, including mobile phone chargers, laptops, desktop computers and USB wall adapters.

The generously sized circuit board provides plenty of room for students to safely solder components, making it ideal for beginners and classroom use. The LED effect can be further enhanced by mounting the circuit inside an acrylic or polypropylene enclosure to create attractive mood lights, night lights or sensor-controlled products.
